Vector Borne dPCR for CoRE
The research is a joint effort with Drs. Ed Breitschwerdt and Ricardo Maggi and their team at North Carolina State University (NCSU). This blood draw study aims to investigate whether patients with Complex Chronic Illnesses, Long COVID, ME/CFS, Post-treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) may carry tick-borne or vector-borne pathogens in their blood.
Distinguishing Immune Features of Long COVID and ME/CFS
This study is a collaborative effort with Dr. Iwasaki and her team at Yale University. This research study focuses on identifying immunological biomarkers associated with Long COVID and pre-2020 ME/CFS, compared with healthy controls, aiming to shed light on the persistent symptoms experienced by patients.
Long COVID Saliva Study
This research aims to investigate the impact of post-acute COVID-19 syndrome. Participants will collect saliva samples at home and drop them off at The CoRE clinic. We will look at cortisol (and other hormones) level changes and their association with ongoing symptoms.
We are also recruiting for healthy controls.

Viral Persistence of SARS-CoV-2 in the GI Tract
In collaboration with GI specialists at Mount Sinai, we are evaluating viral persistence in Long COVID patients by conducting colonoscopy/endoscopy assessments.
